I liked your article a lot, it made me think differently, especially when you discussed how confusing and complicated AI can be. One clearly can envision that working on AI issues needs insights from all sorts of different areas.
If you get people from philosophy, ethics, and cognitive studies working with the technology gurus, they may potentially understand how to make AI fit in with what's important to us as people. There is unsurprisingly a potential to sort through all the strange parts of AI by having a team that keeps looking at what they're doing is potentially amenable to our values and how we live.
By checking on the ethical side of things while they're working on AI, you can make sure that not only does the science move forward--but it also respects our human side.
