I found it pretty alarming how algorithms choose clicks over what's really true, making it harder to tell fact from fiction. I am very interested in AI and how it affects people, and I really thought the part about algorithms was very good. The piece brought up how nowadays, conflict beats real news, and that really made sense to me, because it discusses how difficult it is to find good news stories anymore. It may have once seemed unfathomable--but we know that there's a large problem with how our digital age's goods just vanish. The manner the writer compared losing digital items to losing the Rosetta Stone made it extremely clear how big of a deal it is when historical and cultural material just disappears. The final result of this is we're suggested to step up and demand the news to not only focus on catching our attention but also on keeping our digital history safe for the generations coming after us.
